Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get a quote for my project?

Please register under the 'my projects' link on the left menu. Once you've logged in, please post your requirements on our project management system. A special private 'thread' with your name (or company name) on it is created for your use. A designer or developer will reply with a quote. Alternatively, you can use the project evaluation form. See the left menu.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a web address. Etchedweb.com is an example of a domain name. If you'd like to buy a domain name please click on the link on the left titled 'hosting & domains'.

How much is your hosting?

Please click on the link on the left titled 'hosting & domains' to find our current hosting plans. Furthermore, we have specialized servers for servers requiring custom hosting solutions.

What is SSL?

SSL stands for secure sockets layer. It is a protocol that encrypts data between two points. Usually it encrypts data between a client (you) and a server. SSL is enabled by using https:// instead of http://

I have a custom ecommerce project to do. Can you do it?

Yes we can.

What type of projects are you accepting at this time?

Please see the 'home' page for a current list in the project life cycle diagram.

I have a lot of questions as all of this is new to me. Who can help me?

We can help you of course. Please post all your questions and requests for quotes under the 'my projects' link on the left. We prefer to work through the private project management system for many reasons. Primarily, it streamlines any work and is discussions are less disjointed than email. Furtheremore, if an issue arises, a project manager is able to track the issue quicker.

I'm looking for a site that will rank well on search engines. Should I go with a dynamic or static site?

Good question. And not an easy one to answer as it really depends on your project. However, static pages are usually preferred but are not a requirement. A properly designed dynamic site should have no problems achieving equal rankings in our experience.
